Substance for active light-controlled optical closures based on a crystal with an admixture of neodymium ions as a base contains either calcium fluoride with a uniformly distributed impurity volume of neodymium ions Nd3+ with a concentration of not more than 1 at. %, or strontium fluoride with a uniformly distributed impurity volume of neodymium ions Nd3+ with a concentration of not more than 1 at. %, or a two-component solid solution of sodium fluoride and yttrium fluoride with the general formula Na0.4Y0.6F2.2 with a uniformly distributed in volume admixture of neodymium ions Nd3+ with a concentration of not more than 5 at%, or a two-component solid solution of potassium fluoride and yttrium fluoride with the general formula KY3F10 with a uniformly distributed in volume admixture of neodymium ions Nd3+ with a concentration of not more than 5 at. %.
