METHOD FOR TREATING OSTEOCHONDROSIS OF THE CERVICAL SPINE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61H1/00 A61F5/00

Abstract RU 2654574 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method relates to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, treatment of osteochondrosis of the cervical spine by manual-traction therapy and subsequent fixation of the neck with an orthopedic collar. Doctor performs uniform vertical traction of the patient's neck up to the tension of the neck muscles and statically holds the stretched position of the neck for 40–60 seconds. Further against the background of the longitudinal extension of the neck produces symmetrical lateral inclinations of the head to the right and left, statically holding each position of the maximum possible lateral slope, gradually increasing the retention time from 10 to 30 seconds. In this case, the doctor counteracts the deviation of the trunk of the patient; between each lateral slope to the right and to the left, the vertical extension of the patient's neck is held statically for 5 seconds. After 10–15 lateral inclinations to the right and left with a static retention of the tilt position, without removing the longitudinal extension of the neck, the doctor moves the patient's head to a vertical position and statically holds the stretched position of the neck for 40–60 seconds. Then fixes the neck in the position of the physiological lordosis with the orthopedic collar of Shantz for 2–4 hours.

EFFECT: method allows to eliminate pain and myotonic syndromes of stair muscles and get a quick and persistent positive therapeutic effect in osteochondrosis of the cervical spine.
