FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Disclosed is an orthopaedic collar for treatment of newborn torticollis in the form of a wedge in a case with fixation elements. Wedge has front part for location at the level of chin and clavicles and rear part for location on posterior neck surface on occipital area. Both parts are made with longitudinal and transverse stiffening ribs forming the frame. Longitudinal and transverse ribs of front part stiffness are arched backwards for keeping of elevated chin and inclination of head backwards. Longitudinal and transverse stiffening ribs of the rear part are arched forward to retain the physiological lordosis of the cervical spine and to incline the head back in the hypercorrection position of the deformation.
EFFECT: invention provides permanent retention of the hypercorrection position and physiological lordosis within the first year of the child's life after eliminating torticollis by manual traction therapy.
