SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment, namely ultrasound imaging systems. Ultrasound imaging system includes an ultrasound probe having a matrix of measuring transducers, which provides an ultrasound receive signal, a B-mode volume processing unit configured to generate a B-mode volume based on the ultrasound receive signal, a B-mode image processing unit, providing a current B-mode image based on the B-mode volume, a vessel segmentation unit, creating a three-dimensional map of blood vessels by performing a vascular segmentation technique prior to inserting the invasive medical device during the ultrasound guidance procedure, memory, which stores the previously obtained three-dimensional maps of the vessels, the registration unit, combining the previously obtained three-dimensional maps of the vessels with the volume of the B-mode and selecting parts of the three-dimensional map of the vessels that correspond to the current image of the B-mode, wherein the registration unit is configured to obtain the position information of the ultrasoundtransducer in order to select portions of the three-dimensional map of the vessels corresponding to the current image of the B mode, live ultrasound image that is updated in real time during the insertion of an invasive medical device, based on the current image of the B-mode and the selected part of the three-dimensional map of the vessels, the image processing unit, adapted to superimpose the current B-mode image and the selected portion of the three-dimensional vascular map in order to provide a live ultrasound image. Method for providing a live ultrasound image with information about the vessel is performed by means of an ultrasound imaging system. System includes a storage medium for instructing the computer to perform the method steps.

EFFECT: use of the group of inventions allows to increase the frame rate.
