FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heterophasic propylene copolymer (RAHECO). Copolymer comprises: (i) matrix (M) representing copolymer of propylene (R-PP), and (ii) elastomeric copolymer of propylene (EC) dispersed in said matrix (M), comonomers of copolymer of propylene (R-PP) and elastomeric copolymer of propylene (EC) are selected from ethylene and/or C4-C8 alpha-olefins. Heterophasic propylene copolymer (RAHECO) has (a) comonomer content in the range of 1.5 to 14.0 mol %; (b) melting point, determined using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), ranging from 140 to 155 °C; (c) fraction soluble in cold xylene (XCS) determined according to ISO 16152 (25 °C) of from 10.0 to equal to or less than 30.0 % by weight. In addition, the propylene copolymer (RAHECO) satisfies (d) the inequality (I)
where C (XCS) is the comonomer content [in mole %] of the fraction soluble in cold xylene (XCS), based on the total weight of the heterophasic propylene copolymer (RAHECO); C(total) is the comonomer content [in mol %] of the total weight of the heterophasic propylene copolymer (RAHECO); and (e) inequality (II)
where Tm is the melting point [in °C] of a general heterophasic propylene copolymer (RAHECO); C (XCI) is the comonomer content [in mole %] of the fraction insoluble in cold xylene (XCI), the heterophasic propylene copolymer (RAHECO). Method for preparing a heterophasic copolymer (RAHECO) and an article are also provided.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain a heterophasic propylene copolymer with an optimized and improved balance between mechanical and optical properties.
