FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a propylene heterophasic copolymer (HECO) for producing cast articles, as well as a method for production thereof. Propylene heterophasic copolymer (HECO) contains (semi)crystalline polypropylene (PP) with melt flow rate MFR2 (230°C) in range of 40 to 120 g/10 min and an elastomeric copolymer of propylene (ESC) dispersed in said (semi)crystalline polypropylene (PP). Said propylene heterophase copolymer (HECO) contains a comonomer which is ethylene and/or C4-C8 α-olefin in amount of 30.0 to 75.0 mol%, has fraction, soluble in cold xylene (XCS), in range from 22 to 64 wt%, and melt flow rate MFR2 (230 °C) from 15 to 70 g/10 min.
EFFECT: propylene heterophasic copolymer according to the invention has low shrinkage, low coefficient of linear thermal expansion with simultaneous preservation of good mechanical properties, such as high impact strength.
