FIELD: cable production.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the production of optic-fiber and telecommunication cables. A cable sheath contains statistical hetero-phase propylene copolymer that has a melt flow rate in the range from 0.5 to 15 g/10 min, a bent module of less than 400 MPa, and a relaxation spectrum coefficient at 200°C of less than 20.0. Hetero-phase propylene copolymer contains a matrix of statistical propylene copolymer and elastomeric propylene copolymer dispersed in it. A cable containing the specified sheath is also proposed.

EFFECT: increase in the flexibility and wear resistance of the cable at reduction in shrinkage.
