METHOD FOR PREVENTION OF CICATRICIAL INJURY OF THE SPERMATIC CORD WHEN PERFORMING PROSTHETIC HERNIOPLASTY Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2655541 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used in the treatment of men with oblique inguinal hernias. To do this, open the inguinal canal, secrete and take on the holders of the spermatic cord. Isolate and open the hernial sac, the peritoneum of the hernial sac is dissected from the sewn neck to the bottom through the site of its previous dissection. They turn peritoneum of the hernial sac, cover it with the spermatic cord throughout. Excesses of peritoneum of the hernial sac are excised leaving strips of the peritoneum of the hernial sac 3,5–4 cm wide. Then the peritoneal bands of the hernial sac are sewn without tension by suture seams with absorbable sutures. Back wall of the inguinal canal is strengthened with a polypropylene implant, forming a window in the projection of the deep inguinal ring. In the window there is a spermatic cord wrapped in the peritoneum of the hernial sac. Aponeurosis of the outer oblique abdominal muscle is sutured, in which a window is placed between the seams in the projection of the deep inguinal ring to locate the spermatic cord wrapped in the peritoneum of the hernial sac. Surgery is completed by suturing the wound with the draining of the subcutaneous tissue.

EFFECT: method provides effective prevention of cicatricial scarring of the spermatic cord when performing prosthetic hernioplasty by excluding contact of the spermatic cord with other elements in the area of its traumatization when the hernial sac is isolated.
