FIELD: power engineering; space equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to create solar cells for space applications. Monocrystalline silicon-based solar photoconverter with n+-p or p+-n transition at the frontal surface, isotype p-p+ or n-n+ rear potential barrier for nonequilibrium minority carriers, diffraction grid on the frontal surface with a period equal to 1 mcm, comprises an emitter, a base and current-collectors, wherein the rear potential barrier for nonequilibrium minority carriers is formed behind the charge generation region at a distance of 15÷20 mcm from the frontal surface of the photoconverter.
EFFECT: invention provides increased lifetime of the photoconverter in space, as well as its reduced weight while maintaining high values of the efficiency of conversion of solar radiation.
