SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and ecology, namely to identification of adaptation of different varieties of agricultural crops to toxic soil substances – salinization, heavy metals, petroleum products and other abiotic factors. Method involves germinating seeds in a thermostat on wetted filter paper. At the stage of germination of seeds, filter paper is impregnated with 0.3–1.5 % aqueous solution of toxic substances and kept in the thermostat for 5–8 days without lighting first at a temperature of 20 °C, and after two days the temperature is reduced to +2–5 °C. Then according to amount of germinated seeds, more than 80 % determine resistance of varieties to toxicants.

EFFECT: method allows to simplify the assessment of varieties for adaptation to stress factors.
