FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: using: to determine the internal stresses in the continuous rails. Summary of the invention is that in the loaded object under study and its unloaded analog, impulses of ultrasonic vibrations of longitudinal and transverse waves are introduced, then the impulses transmitted through the object are received by a straight double twin probe and three angle receiving transducers located on the same axis. Height of the object under study is measured by a straight double twin probe and, depending on it, three angle receiving transducers are installed at a certain distance from the transmitting angle transducer directed opposite to the receiving ones. Propagation time of the pulses of longitudinal and transformed ultrasonic waves from the transmitting transducer to the receiving transducers are measured, by which the magnitude of the stresses is estimated.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of a significant increase in the accuracy of the determination of mechanical stresses by moving the receiving transducers with respect to the transmitting transducer and taking into account the height of the object under study.
