FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for determination of mechanical stresses in rails. Essence of invention consists in the fact that radiating and receiving piezoelectric transducers, which axes are directed towards each other, are introduced with the help of pulse of ultrasonic vibrations of longitudinal and transverse waves. Receiving transducer receives pulses passing through the rail and measures their passage times. In addition, the introduced radiating separately-superimposed direct transducer installed in the middle between the radiating and receiving transducers, input pulses of ultrasonic vibrations of longitudinal waves and measuring their passage times, and voltage value is determined by a given formula.
EFFECT: possibility of simplifying and improving accuracy of determination of stresses in rails.
