FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of analytical chemistry applied to the gas and oil industries and can be used to analyze stable gas-condensate fractions, wide fractions of light hydrocarbons, and other process hydrocarbon liquids. Method for determining the concentration of diethylene glycol in stable liquid hydrocarbon fractions is that an analysis of the content of diethylene glycol is carried out by chromatographic method with a flame ionization detector. As a sample preparation, the extraction of diethylene glycol from the hydrocarbon fraction with distilled water is carried out, the separation of the aqueous phase from the hydrocarbon separation and subsequent analysis of the extract by gas chromatography, in addition, the mass concentration of diethylene glycol in the hydrocarbon fraction is calculated from the value of its content in the extract, calculated by the method of absolute calibration by the peak area of the output signal. As a result, it becomes possible to determine diethylene glycol in liquid hydrocarbon fractions in the concentration range (0.015–6.0) mg/g or (0.01–4.0) mg/dm3.
