FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry. Disclosed is a method for isolating an aqueous solution of glucans from a glucan-containing and biomass-containing aqueous fermentation broth in a filtration unit. Method comprises supplying a feed stream comprising the aqueous fermentation broth in a filtration plant, passing the feed stream through a symmetrical metal tubular membrane, which is of cylindrical design and has pores and withdrawing a permeate stream comprising the aqueous solution of glucans. Internal diameter of the symmetrical metal tubular membrane ranges from ≥2 to ≤6 mm, symmetrical metal tubular membrane is made of a material with a separation efficiency in the range from ≥0.5 to ≤45 mcm.
EFFECT: invention provides the isolation of glucans from fermentation broth on an industrial scale without increasing the content of cell debris in the glucan solution.
