FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical devices and, in particular, to analytical test strips. Electrochemical-based analytical test strip (EBATS) for the determination of an analyte in a body fluid sample includes an electrically insulating base layer, patterned electrically conductive layer disposed on the electrically insulating base layer and including a plurality of electrodes, and an enzymatic reagent layer, disposed on a portion of the patterned conductor layer and forming a bare electrode from the plurality of electrodes and the plurality of electrodes coated with an enzymatic reagent. EBATS also includes a patterned spacer layer, a top layer, having an underside surface (USS), and a soluble electrochemically-active coating (SEAC) disposed on the USS of the top layer. Patterned spacer layer and the top layer form a sample receiving chamber within the EBATS. SEAC is disposed on the USS of the top layer within a portion of the sample receiving chamber and opposite the bare electrodes.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy of the analyte determination.
