FIELD: recycling and disposal of waste.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology, namely to the processing of industrial waste. Method of recycling polytetrafluoroethylene waste includes grinding PTFE waste, mixing it with calcium oxide or magnesium oxide, the PTFE waste being crushed to a fraction of less than 2.0 mm and mixed with one of the oxides, pre-ground to a fraction of less than 0.4 mm, at a weight ratio of a waste: oxide, 1:1.5–2, then the mixture is pressed into briquettes at a pressure of 400–600 kg/cm2 and heated. Heating of briquettes, made of a mixture of waste PTFE and calcium oxide at a weight ratio of 1:1.5, is carried out to 390–410 °C, heating briquettes made of mixture of waste PTFE and magnesium oxide in a ratio of 1:2, is carried out to 420–450 °C.
EFFECT: process allows to oxidize waste PTFE at a lower temperature by binding the resulting gaseous decomposition products to solid natural compounds.
