SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to animal litter. Animal litter composition comprises a non-agglomerated expanded perlite having a size range from -8 to 30 mesh, moisture content from 0.5 to 3% and a bulk density in the range of 25-200 kg/m3, combined with bentonite having a moisture percentage between 6 and 7% and a bulk density of 600 to 1125 kg/m3, and covered with it, in the form of granules. Granules are brought into contact with water and dried to a moisture content in the range of 5 to 25%. Litter composition has a density between 200 and 600 kg/m3. Litter composition includes additives from among an odour control agent, fragrance, antimicrobial agent, anti-sticking agent, pH control agent, colouring powder, dyes, colouring agent or coloured particles, de-dusting agent, disinfectant or a combination thereof. Portion of expanded perlite material is fed into a coating device, liquid is added, bentonite is fed.
EFFECT: reduced density and weight of the packaged animal filler.
