FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to a biofuel cell (BFC), and can be used to produce low-power, unattended sources of direct current, generating electrical energy during oxidation of organic substances by microorganisms. Biofuel cell comprises an anode and a cathode made of an electrically conductive carbon felt with a developed surface, organic substances, which, during operation, form a biofilm of the electrogenic microflora on the anode, are applied on the surface of the anode, and on one of anode bases, oriented to the cathode, there is a gas-impermeable plate taking the shape and having dimensions corresponding to it.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is increased specific capacity of the biofuel cell, as well as increased duration of its continuous operation.
