FIELD: laser engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method of forming laser pulse packets consists in repeated separation of a laser pulse into two pulses that are delayed in time with respect to each other and then combined back. Separation and integration of pulses is performed by means of fiber dividers, and the delay between pulses happens due to their propagation between dividers along fiber channels of different lengths. Use of several pulse separation stages and their relative delay and a combination of such stages allows receiving packets with a different number of laser pulses in them.

EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring the amplification of a packet of chirped pulses with enabling their identical polarization and increasing the minimum allowable distance between pulses.
