FIELD: test and measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: device consists of a trolley equipped with a rigid screen – a smooth transition – in the form of a quarter of the cylinder, the walls of which move into vertically and horizontally positioned guide planes. With the aid of the device, an answer was received to the question whether the motion of the body along the circumference can be equivalent to an oblique elastic shock and under what condition. It is shown that, under the conditions of the experiment, the momentum of a body moving along the circumference to a smooth transition remains practically unchanged (it varies very slightly), if the mass of the "hit" body exceeds the mass of the "striking" body by at least 50 times.
EFFECT: apparatus (device) for studying the mechanical interactions of physical bodies was proposed.
