FIELD: tribology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of tribology, in particular to the rapid evaluation of the wear resistance of structural high-hard ceramic materials working in a friction pair with a metal. Essence: the test ceramic sample rubs its surface along the counterweight at a constant normal load and sliding speed. Before the friction on the ceramic surface in the contact area, a straight lined stripe (cut) inserted by the needle, then on the length of the contact zone perpendicular to the line of stripe profile is determined, the profilogram and the Abbot-Firestone diagram are constructed, on which the contribution to the friction of the share of the most prominent roughness is calculated α relative to the linear profile. After friction, a similar profilogram is constructed and the change in the roughness parameter is calculated ΔRt, by the contact area S, worn out volume Vm ceramic is determined by the formula.
EFFECT: technical result: determination of a worn-out microvolume of a ceramic with short friction from a change in the roughness parameter Rt, which can be used to evaluate the wear resistance of ceramic samples at a better-worse level for friction pairs.
