SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for decoding audio bitstreams with enhanced spectral band copy metadata. Encoded bitstream of the audio is received. Portion of the block of the encoded audio bitstream is demultiplexed. Portion of the block of the encoded audio bitstream is decoded. At least one block of the encoded audio bitstream includes: a filler with an identifier indicating the start of the filler and filling data after the identifier, wherein the padding data includes: at least one flag identifying whether the base spectral band copying processing form should be performed or an extended spectral band copy form for the audio content of at least one block of the encoded audio bitstream.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the efficiency of copying the spectral band.
