SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for processing audio data. Technical result is achieved by steps of: filtering the decoded audio signal in the low frequency band to generate a filtered audio signal in the low frequency band; and regenerating a portion of the high-frequency band of the audio signal using the filtered audio signal in the low-frequency band and high-frequency reconstruction metadata, wherein said regeneration includes spectral transfer, if patch insertion mode parameter has a first value, and said regeneration includes harmonic transposition by spreading the frequency of the phase vocoder if the patch insertion mode parameter has a second value.

EFFECT: high quality of replicating the spectral range of audio data.
