FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of improving the quality of crude oil, heavy oil or bitumen for producing fully purified hydrocarbon products, and comprises (a) providing a raw material source of crude oil or feedstock source of heavy oil or bitumen, (b) treating said feedstock to produce at least one o form a distilled fraction and non-distilled bottoms fraction, (c) optionally, treating non-distilled bottoms fraction during the treatment of the hydrocarbons to obtain the treated fraction and the treated bottoms fraction, (d) treating said at least one distilled fraction and/or said treated fraction in a hydrocarbon cracking process to produce a treated stream, (e) feeding said bottoms fraction or said treated residual fraction to a syngas generating circuit for formulating a hydrogen lean syngas stream via a partial oxidation reaction and reacting said syngas in a Fischer-Tropsch reactor to synthesize hydrocarbon byproducts, (f) adding an external source of hydrogen to said hydrogen lean syngas to optimize the synthesis of hydrocarbons and (g) mixing a portion of said synthesized hydrocarbons with a portion of said treated stream to produce said fully purified hydrocarbon products. Proposed method combines Fischer-Tropsch technology with gasification and generation of a stream of hydrogen-rich gas.

EFFECT: this method makes it possible predominantly to avoid waste associated with the formation of a distillation residue and/or petroleum coke, which has a huge effect on the yield of the resulting hydrocarbon material.
