FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and concerns the safe operation of nickel-cadmium batteries in various electrical and electronic systems. Method of creating on the surface of oxide-nickel electrodes an electrically conductive nickel layer, permeable to ions and having electrical contact with a current lead, while an electrically conductive nickel layer 2–4 mcm thick on the surface of oxide-nickel electrodes is created by electrolysis in a neutral (pH=7) nickel plating electrolyte.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to create nickel-cadmium batteries with metal-ceramic electrodes that are not subject to thermal runaway.
