FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to bariatric surgery, and can be used in the treatment of obesity. To do this during the endoscopic intervention through tube-conductor is introduced intragastric stent, the working element of which is made of titanium nickelide (nitinol) – an alloy that has a memory of a predetermined form. Stent is hermetically sealed in a flexible tube made of a material resistant to the chemical environment of the stomach, having a straight form before installation. In established state, stent has the form of a cylindrical spring with at least two complete turns with an external diameter corresponding to the size of the patient's stomach, and which, unlocking the walls of the stomach, creates the patient necessary and comfortable conditions for the treatment of obesity and a significant decrease in body weight. In this case, the working element of the stent is made of two, three or more wires of titanium nickelide (nitinol) in the form of a twisted rope or braid, formed by a pigtail weave.
EFFECT: method provides effective treatment of obese patients while simultaneously significantly reducing the likelihood of complications due to the fact that the mutual micro-motion of the wires in the strand makes the working member more plastic when removed from the stomach through the conductor tube, which does not lead to its crushing and carries no risk for damage to the mucosal surface or tissues of the esophagus during extraction of the stent.
