Electric vehicle transmission control device comprises control means for switching the torque distribution ratio and an overload engagement control means for controlling engagement overload capacity of the frictional engagement member during transmission shift. Control means for switching the torque distribution ratio uses a value obtained by dividing the engagement overload capacity of the engagement member by the input torque for the engagement member, as an index representing the step of the transmission shift procedure, in order to calculate the torque distribution ratio for continuously switching from the current torque distribution ratio of the transmission to the distribution ratio of the next transmission.

EFFECT: required accuracy in the overload capacity of the frictional engagement member is increased.
