FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used for the analysis of Halonal in medicaments. Method for quantifying Halonal comprises the transfer of organic substance from a sample to a solution, analysis by adsorption cathodic inversion voltammetry in a differential mode, wherein a glassy carbon electrode is used as an indicator, saturated silver chloride electrode is used as a reference electrode. Halonal is accumulated in stirred solution for 30–40 s at electrolysis potential of 0.75 V relative to saturated silver chloride electrode on background of 0.1 M of sodium dihydrogen phosphate in pH range of 4 to 5, followed by recording cathode peaks in differential mode of capturing voltammograms at a potential sweep rate of 30 to 50 mV/s. Concentration of Halonal is determined by peak height in potential range of -1.5 to -1.1 V by a standard addition method.
EFFECT: voltammetric method for quantifying 1-(2-fluorobenzoyl)-5-phenyl-5-ethylpyrimidine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione (halonal) is proposed.
