SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of railway transport, in particular to the methods of adjusting the brake rigging. Method of adjusting the brake rigging consists in disassembling the brake rigging and adjusting the clearance between the wheels and the brake pads. Adjustment of a clearance between brake pads and wheels is made by means of tools fixed on each brake pad. Then regulator of the brake rigging is rotated until the stop position of tools in the rolling surface of the wheels is achieved, size of the variable part of the regulator corresponding to the stop position is recorded, brake rigging regulator is disassembled, tools are removed from the brake pads and regulator is adjusted to a previously recorded size.

EFFECT: improvement in the accuracy of the clearance between the brake pad and the wheel is achieved and guaranteed clearance setting is ensured.
