SUBSTANCE: absorbent article (1) comprises upper sheet (12) formed from a composite sheet, lower sheet (13) and absorbent member (14) disposed between upper sheet (12) and lower sheet (13). Composite sheet (10) has first direction (X) extending along the longitudinal direction of the article and second direction (Y) extending along the transverse direction of the article. First sheet (1) and second sheet (2), which are laminated, partially join one another and form a plurality of connected regions. First sheet (1) in its parts excluding the connected regions protrudes so that it is at a distance from second sheet (2) and forms convexities protruding toward the user's skin. Composite sheet (10) has middle region (M) and a pair of side regions (S). Pattern of the convexity in middle region (M) differs from the pattern of the convexity in side regions (S). Percentage of the area of the connected regions in side regions (S) is greater than the percentage of the area of the connected regions in middle region (M). Convexities having the maximum height in middle region, (M) and such convexities in side regions (S) have the same height.
