FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of fire safety, namely to fire extinguishing systems for steel vertical tanks for storing oil or oil products. Method of protecting the fire extinguishing system pipelines and the cooling system of tanks against the effect of gas-air mixture explosion is characterized by the fact that: on the horizontal piping of the foam fire extinguishing system, at least two flexible inserts placed at a predetermined distance from each other and from the tank wall are installed from above; to the vertical section of the foam fire extinguishing system, at least one flexible insert placed at a predetermined distance from the wall of the reservoir is placed on top of the foam generator; on the horizontal piping of the sub-layer fire extinguishing system, at least two flexible inserts are installed from the outer and inner sides of the reservoir wall, located at a predetermined distance from each other and from the wall of the reservoir; on the horizontal piping of the water-cooling system, at least two flexible inserts are arranged at a predetermined distance from each other and from the wall of the tank; the upper annular pipeline of the water cooling system is fixed with clamps on the wall of the tank with the possibility of horizontal movement of the pipeline in the yoke by not less than 150 mm.

EFFECT: increased reliability of foam fire extinguishing systems and water cooling of tanks.
