SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical industry and is a composition comprising a preservative system to inhibit microbial growth, where the preservative system comprises salicylate salt and a benzoate salt, wherein a total amount of the salicylate salt and the benzoate salt is from 0.2 weight % to 0.5 weight % by total weight of the composition, and wherein a molar ratio of salicylate to benzoate is 1:6 to 1:2.3, and the composition has a pH of 5 or less.

EFFECT: invention provides a balance between the use of a lower amount of a general preservative in the composition and the use of less salicylate in the preservative system and the maintenance of adequate microrobustness or antibacterial activity of the preparation.
