FIELD: measurement; test.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to wastewater treatment. Method for determining the turbidity of the liquid phase of multiphase wastewater includes: placement of a turbidity sensor consisting of a housing having a light emitter and a light sensor in multiphase wastewater. Radiation of a light signal and reception by a light sensor of this light signal, representing the amount of light scattered or transmitted by wastewater. Sampling the signal to obtain a plurality of sample signal values from the liquid phase of the wastewater in the absence of flocculated particles, obtaining one set of sample values, and when the flocculated particles are on the signal path, obtaining a second set of sample values. Comparing sample values with a threshold based on the probability distribution density obtained from a set of sample values. Establishing said threshold, so that at least a portion of the sample values lie below it. Identifying sample values below the threshold and determining the turbidity of the liquid phase of the wastewater based on the identified sample values.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of determining the turbidity of wastewater and adjusting the amount of coagulant.
