FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of heat treatment, in particular to a circular saw used in the woodworking industry. Method provides for tensioning a circular saw blade through acceleration and non-contact induction heating along one or more local areas of the saw blade, the heating being conducted along the specified annular tracks in the 0.5–0.8 radius zone of the saw, with the width of the thermal trace decreasing as it approaches the periphery of the disk, to a temperature of 400–600 °C, at which the yield strength of the saw material becomes lower than the mechanical radial stresses acting when rotated in the heated annular zones of the saw blade. Decrease in the speed of rotation of the saw and its stopping is performed after stopping the heating and cooling of the saw blade to a temperature below 350 °C, corresponding to the appearance of elastoplastic deformations in the annular zones of the saw blade at standstill.
EFFECT: creation of thermodynamic stresses in the saw blade in the optimum areas of the saw blade, increase in the dynamic stability of the saws during operation and the quality of preparation for work.
