FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aluminum bronzes and to a method of manufacturing therefrom parts intended for operation in friction conditions. Aluminum bronze contains the following elements, mass%: 7.0–10.0 Al, 3.0–6.0 Fe, 3.0–5.0 Zn, 3.0–5.0 Ni, 0.5–1.5 Sn, ≤0.2 Si, ≤0.1 Pb, rest is Cu and the inevitable impurities. Part subjected to frictional load, made of aluminum bronze, after treatment by cold forming and final calcination in the temperature range 300–500 °C, which lies below the diffusion annealing temperature, has a conditional limit RP0.2, 650–1000 MPa, ultimate strength, Rm, 850–1050 MPa, and the elongation at break, A5, 2–8 %, preferably 4–7 %.
EFFECT: invention is directed to the production of parts having improved mechanical properties.
