FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lead-free high-strength brass alloy and can be used for production of articles operating under conditions of frictional loads, in particular bushings of piston rings, rings of synchronizers, thrust bearings on turbo-compressors. Lead-free high-strength brass alloy for making articles operating in conditions of friction in lubricant medium contains, wt %: 50–65 Cu, 0.4–3 Mn, 0.55–3 Sn, maximum 1 Fe, maximum 1 Ni, maximum 1 Al, maximum 1.5 Si, balance—Zn and unavoidable impurities, wherein sum of elements Mn and Sn is not less than 1.3 wt % and not more than 6.0 wt %.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at creation of lead-free brass alloy with high strength and wear resistance at action of frictional loads, as well as high corrosion resistance in acid medium.
