FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to special brass subjected to frictional load. Special brass contains, wt. %: Cu 60–62; Mn 1.6–2.0; Ni 1.8–2.2; Al 0.2–0.4; Si 0.65–0.95; Fe 0.9–1.1; Sn ≤ 0.1; Pb ≤ 0.1; Zn and unavoidable impurities are the rest, in which the silicides have a round shape and granularity of 10–20 mcm. Product from special brass for operation in friction conditions is processed by means of hot moulding, annealing and cold drawing and has conditional yield point RP0.2 350–590 MPa, ultimate tensile strength Rm - 400–650 MPa and relative elongation at break A5 - in range of 3–19%.
EFFECT: alloy is characterized by high strength, wear resistance at frictional load, and also ability of preservation of operational properties at destruction in case of insufficient lubrication.
