FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway transport, in particular, to the design of parking brakes for freight cars. Parking brake of the railway car contains a manual drive located at the end of the railway car. Manual drive contains a drive shaft with a steering wheel. Drive shaft is connected through a drive rod comprising two sections – the first section at the end wall and the second (lower part) under the body, connected with each other by means of a one-turn rotary lever, mounted under the body of the railway car and on the end of the bearing frame of the railway car, with the brake lever system of the running truck of the railway car. Manual drive is placed on the end of the bearing frame of the railway car under the end wall of the body of the railway car.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the parking brake of the railway car, increase in the reliability of its design and increase in safety are achieved.
