FIELD: veterinary.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine and represents a method for selecting genetically valuable spermatozoa of agricultural animals, consisting in the binding of genetically complete and mature spermatozoa with a high fertilizing potential with immobilized 1 % high-molecular hyaluronic acid of animal origin at 37 °C for 30 minutes, with subsequent removal from ejaculate of non-hyaluronic acid-associated defective, weakened and genetically inferior spermatozoa.
EFFECT: invention provides an opportunity to increase effectiveness of the fertilizing capacity of semen of farm animals, by rejecting genetically inferior and immature spermatozoa that have not been bound in a receptor-mediated way to hyaluronic acid.
