FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary and animal husbandry and can be used in artificial insemination to identify genetically inferior spermatozoa, their culling and inadmissibility of use for artificial insemination. Invention is a method for evaluating the genetic usefulness of spermatozoa, comprising using an in vitro ejaculate sample in a dilution medium, characterized in that in ejaculate samples in vitro in a dilution medium, hyaluronic acid labeled with fluorescein is added at a concentration of 0.5–1.0 mmol, followed by incubation at 37 °C for 5–10 minutes and recording fluorescence intensity with a maximum of 495 nm, when the fluorescence intensity of the sample is higher than 50–60 AU spermatozoa are considered mature, genetically complete, with a fluorescence intensity of the sample below 30–35 AU spermatozoa are considered genetically inferior.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase the efficiency of evaluation of the genetic usefulness of spermatozoa to determine the appropriateness of their further use in artificial insemination.
