FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the ceramics mechanical characteristics determining methods and can be used for the ceramic materials tensile strength evaluation, used in the requiring individual strength control products. Essence: performing the annular sample diametrical compressing by the static load application, determining the sample breaking load, determination of the sample stresses concentration factor and determination of its tensile strength. Stresses in the sample concentration factor is determined from the tensile strength under uniaxial tension values, evaluated from the brittle fracture model using the material bending strength values, by the formula: , where – ceramic material bending strength value; Vu is the sample volume between the loading device supports; Vp is the sample working volume during uniaxial tension tests; D is the annular sample outer diameter; d is the annular sample internal diameter; t is the annular sample thickness; kH is the sample load factor, equal to 1/(2(m+1)2) with three-point bending or equal (m+2)/(4(m+1)2) with four-point bending; m is the product material Weibull module; Pmax is the annular sample destroying load, and the material tensile strength is evaluated by the formula:
EFFECT: enabling possibility of the ceramic material tensile strength evaluation in the process of products manufacturing and increase in the evaluation efficiency in the absence of material strength passport data during the direct stretching.
