FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petrographic research, namely to the technology of manufacturing sample thin sections containing various hydrocarbons, bitumens and asphaltenes. Method of producing petrographic sections includes cutting the initial billet, grinding one of the cutting surfaces, sticking the workpiece with a ground surface on a slide, sawing out the outer part of the workpiece, grinding the outer surface of the workpiece to the desired thickness, polishing the surface and gluing the cover glass. According to the method, after cutting the initial blank, all subsequent operations are carried out on a cooled surface, the temperature of which is 3–5 °C. Glued workpiece on the cooled surface is held for 1–1.5 hours.
EFFECT: simplification of the method due to the possibility of gluing the oil-saturated rock or asphalt concrete billet onto the slide without the extraction of hydrocarbons from the sample.
