FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, namely to method for evaluating the high meat productivity of salsa sheep. Method comprises isolation of DNA, amplification of GH gene fragment using primers 5'-GGAGGCAGGAAGGGATGAA-3' and 5'-CCAAGGGAGGGAGAGACAGA-3', restriction of the amplified fragment of GH gene with HaeIII endonuclease, identification of genotypes and selection of animals with the genotype AB/GH.
EFFECT: present invention allows to evaluate meat productivity of sheep and to select animals that are genetically predisposed to high meat productivity.
