SUBSTANCE: linear electromagnetic device (200), such as inductor (202), a transformer or the like, comprises a core in which a magnetic flux is generated (106) and (108). Opening (208) is formed through core (204). Device comprises first conductor (212) disposed in opening (208) and extending through core (204). First conductor (212) has a substantially square or rectangular (206) cross-section. Electric current flowing through first conductor (212) generates a magnetic field around first conductor (212) which excites magnetic flux in core (204).

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the dimensions by increasing the magnetic flux.
