FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: use of a citrate solution for the removal of C-reactive protein (CRP) by affinity chromatography from biological fluids has been proposed. CRP is removed by affinity chromatography using column material, functionalized with help of groups ω-phosphonoxyalkylammonium and/or by ω-ammoniumalkoxyhydroxyphosphoryloxy groups. Invention provides selective and Ca2+-dependent binding of CRP to column material and increases the binding capacity of the claimed ligands.
EFFECT: use of a citrate solution is suitable for the extracorporeal removal of CRP from blood or plasma for resuscitation after cardiac arrest, as well as for the prevention and/or treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
