FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines. Disclosed are versions of methods of reactivating a catalytic converter at engine restart. In one example, the method of reactivating a catalytic converter attached to an engine includes a step of, upon restarting the engine, after shutdown thereof, controlling the degree of fuel enrichment of the fuel-air mixture based on the length of the engine off time and the amount of air in the engine upon restart.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to precisely regulate the additional amount of fuel necessary for the reactivation of the catalytic converter, which contributes to an increase in fuel efficiency and a reduction in the toxicity of the engine.
