FIELD: methods and devices for metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a hydraulic actuator for controlling the relative movement of the electrode-bearing arms of a welding gun for contact spot welding. Hydraulic actuator comprises a housing comprising a main cylinder having a main shaft having a first end protruding from the housing for controlling the relative movement of the electrode arms and an auxiliary cylinder. In the chamber of the auxiliary cylinder, an auxiliary piston, attached to the auxiliary cylinder, is axially and slidably mounted. Main cylinder is connected to the main piston unit, which is axially and slidably installed in the main cylinder chamber. Main piston unit comprises an auxiliary cylinder in which an auxiliary piston attached to the second end of the main cylinder is axially and slidably mounted. With the auxiliary cylinder of the main piston unit, locking means are provided to block the auxiliary piston relative to the auxiliary cylinder at the end of its working stroke on the side opposite to said auxiliary cylinder.
EFFECT: result of the invention is increased efficiency and reliability of the device.
