FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to obtain nanostructured bismuth ferrite powders BiFeO3, used in microelectronics, spintronics, devices for magnetic recording of information, in the production of photocatalysts, materials for photovoltaics. Method for producing hollow microspheres of bismuth ferrite involves ultrasonic action on a mixture of iron and bismuth nitrates taken in the stoichiometric ratio, drying and subsequent calcination. Aqueous solution of a mixture of iron and bismuth nitrates with a concentration of 0.24–0.48 mol/l in terms of bismuth ferrite is subjected to ultrasonic action. Aqueous solution is suspended to form an aerosol, the particles of which are fed to the drying zone and then to the calcination zone. Frequency of ultrasonic action is 1.7–3.0 MHz, the air speed is 0.150–0.185 m/s. Resulting product is dried at 250–350 °C and calcined at 800–820 °C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to shorten the process of obtaining hollow microspheres of bismuth ferrite to several seconds.
