SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the compositions of iron-based alloys, which may be used in machine building. Iron-based alloy contains, by wt. %: manganese 7.3–7.7; chromium 0.1–0.15; molybdenum 0.4–0.6; vanadium 0.7–1.3; nickel 2.0–2.5; calcium 0.0003–0.0005; selenium 0.0003–0.0005; tantalum 0.4–0.6; copper 1.0–1.5; rest is iron.
EFFECT: alloy is characterized by high impact strength.
