SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hybrid vehicles. Control device for controlling energy for a hybrid vehicle having a transmission with a plurality of engaging couplings as gearshift elements that are fully engaged by the stroke from the disengaged position, and performing EV-starting from the place, comprises an energy management controller that manages when preparing for EV-starting from the place, based on the condition of the battery capacity. This condition is set with the ability to maintain the charging capacity of the battery in a predetermined range of charging capacities when using the battery power to allow charging and discharging the battery. In determining the malfunction of the engaging couplings, the energy management controller extends the range of the charging capacitors when using the battery power more than when the engaging clutches operate normally.
EFFECT: suppressed emergence of a situation in which EV-starting from the place is impossible due to insufficient battery capacity of the battery.
